Name and email address, when you sign up for our newsletter or a free download
Shipping and billing address, name, and email, when you place an order
Payment information, when you make a purchase - this is collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe); Crunchyverse does not receive or store your full card details
Messages you send us directly, such as emails to hello@crunchyverse.com or shop@crunchyverse.com
Information collected automatically:
Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected through Squarespace's built-in analytics and cookies
Order and purchase history associated with your account or email
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Fulfill and ship orders, including sharing necessary order details (name, shipping address) with our print-on-demand fulfillment partners
Send the content you've requested, such as a free download, and our newsletter, if you've opted in
Calculate and remit applicable sales tax
Respond to customer service inquiries
Maintain accurate business records for internal bookkeeping only - this data is not shared externally beyond what's needed for tax and accounting purposes
Improve our site and content based on aggregate usage patterns
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the business, with the following categories of service providers:
Website hosting & e-commerce platform - site usage data and order data, to operate our website and process orders
Payment processor - payment details, to process payments securely
Email marketing platform - name and email address, to send newsletters and requested content
Order fulfillment partners - name and shipping address, to produce and ship physical products
Tax compliance service - order total and shipping location, to calculate and remit sales tax
Affiliate networks - anonymous click/referral data via cookies (no personal information), to track qualifying purchases for commission
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they process on our behalf.
International Data Transfers
Crunchyverse is based in the United States. When you place an order, the information needed to fulfill it (such as your name and shipping address) is shared with our print-on-demand fulfillment partners, who may produce and ship your order from facilities inside or outside your country. If you order from outside the United States, your information will be processed across international borders for the purpose of fulfilling and shipping your order. We only share what is necessary to complete your order.
Cookies & Tracking
Our site uses standard cookies through Squarespace to support core site functionality and basic analytics. If we add advertising or tracking pixels in the future (for example, for Pinterest or social media marketing), this policy will be updated accordingly before those tools go live, and we will add a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link as required under the CPRA, since pixel-based advertising falls under that law's definition of data "sharing" even when no data is sold.
Children's Privacy
Crunchyverse is intended for use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@crunchyverse.com and we will delete it.
Your Rights & Choices
Unsubscribe: Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us directly.
Access or deletion requests: You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@crunchyverse.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and correct inaccuracies. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out link is currently required - see the Cookies & Tracking section above for when that would change.
EU/UK visitors: If you are located in the EU or UK, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict our use of your personal information. We process your information based on your consent (for marketing emails) or our legitimate business interest (for order fulfillment and customer service). Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy - for example, order records are kept as needed for accounting and tax purposes, and email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
